Our blog is very much intended to provide value to NSTB's community first and foremost. We are thus aiming to publish articles for the community, by the community. Find out what we have planned and how you can help!

What we want to write about

We have already collected lots of topic ideas for blog series and individual articles. Here are a few:

Community articles such as announcing the start, middle and end of the challenge, challenge stats, and so on. We want to use the blog to present coordinated information about the monthly prompt competition, our craft book club, developments of the server itself and this website, and much more.
All kinds of personal writer stories focusing on your writing process, worldbuilding, character building, or anything we can ask you about. This is similar to a spotlight, just a little more focused: for example, we could ask three pantsers and three planners to explain their writing process. Maybe you have a weird outlining method you want to share, or are excited about your plot and want to share how exactly you came up with that crazy story. These articles are all about sharing interesting stories and individual cases in the world of creative writing.
Especially for our beginners, but really for anyone on NSTB and beyond, we want to write craft guides that each focus on some specific aspect of writing. We equally hope that these guides will help our members and also attract new members through sharing and search traffic.
Going with our challenge and our mantra of finishing drafts quickly, we want to publish writing lifestyle articles. We want to share how some of us are achieving such a high story output every month and how we make writing more comfortable, productive, and meaningful. I think we can learn a lot from each other (we already have). These articles would allow us to share our individual experiences to form a coherent whole.

We have many more ideas, but maybe you also have an idea. Whatever it is, and no matter if it fits into one of the categories above, please share it with us. If you want to write it yourself, great! If not, I'm sure we'll find someone who'd be interested in writing about your topic.

How you can contribute

The most obvious way to contribute to our silly, terrific blog is to write articles. While all of our staff is looking to write articles, so can you, even if you are not a moderator. Just message me (Marco#9733) on Discord with your idea, including the article's title, a short synopsis, and when you'd like to publish it (so we can plan content in advance). I will get you set up as soon as possible!

If you aren't writing articles yourself, you can still help us grow the NSTB blog. Here's what you can do:

Read. This is the most important part: read what we publish. No publication is worth anything without readers. As members of NSTB, you represent the core of our readership.
Give Feedback. Tell us what you want to read! You'll teach us what writers like to read and what not.
Share. Visit Twitter, Facebook, Reddit, Instagram, or any other platform, and share an article you really like. If you have a blog, mention us! If you want to give back to the community, help us grow!

Where we'll go from here

We want to write for the community, but we'd also like to draw in writers from outside of NSTB. We think that a blog is a fun and useful way to reach those people. As we develop the publication for our community, we also hope that it helps writers beyond our "borders".
